Biomats are biodegradable mats made of woven coir or jute fibers creating an open mesh. This structure slows down the speed of the surface water, giving the materials a temporary anti-erosion function. The high tensile strength of these materials makes them suitable also on steep slopes.
They can be used in any type of climate and soil.
PLYCOC is a coir fiber bio-net with a standard weight of 400 g/m2 or 700 g/m2.
It does not have a good water retention capacity, but among bio-textiles it is the material with the highest mechanical, chemical and biochemical resistance, ensuring it a very long life.
In the case of large projects, weight, mesh size and tensile strength of the bio-fabric can be produced according to the project specifications.
